Dear John Letter to Thursday
Dear Thursday,
I just wanted to write you a little note and tell you how incredibly boring you were today. While I can say that Wednesday was a royal pain in my ass, at least it flew by. But you… yea, you totally sucked. I am highly disappointed, and I must say, I expected more. Not only did you take forever to end, but there was really nothing of note that I can say made you interesting. I have a real issue with the status of our interaction, and unfortunately, I think you are too far gone to make it up to me.
Waking up this morning only to realize you weren’t Friday, just started me off all wrong. Out of the kindness of my heart, and my passion to see the best in every day, I thought to give you another chance. So I go to my favorite local coffee shop, for them to tell me that the bakery USUALLY delivers on Thursdays, but for whatever reason, they did not this Thursday. No lemon blueberry muffin for me. Another disappointment… caused by you. With the strong notion that I should just let you go, and sleep through the rest of the day, I decided to give you one more chance. So around lunch time, I get a call from American Express, telling me it’s Thursday, and if I don’t pay my bill, it will be considered late. So after paying an insane amount on my CC bill, and then a little extra for good measure, I realized something… I can’t take you and all your foolishness anymore. Even then, through my frustration and disappointment, I was able to consider that perhaps I am being a bit too harsh. It was then that I discovered that “Speed Walking” was an Olympic Game… my day was officially over.
I am done with you Thursday… we should end this now, while it can still cordial. I hate that it had to come to this, but I think we both deserve to be happy, and as long as this day continues, I can’t be. Don’t get me wrong, I feel truly blessed to have woken up to see you today, but that really has nothing to do with you (shout-out to my homie up high). At any rate, it’s been a worthy journey, but now I must say good-bye.
I hope nothing for you but the best, I’m sure you will make for a wonderful day for someone, someday.
Yours Truly,
Lex
